Minister of Information Emphasizes the Importance of Nurturing Future Citizens

Kratie, August 7, 2024 — Mr. Neth Pheaktra, Minister of Information and Chairman of the Royal Government Working Group in Kratie Province, led a significant outreach initiative in Chit Borey District, distributing educational materials to more than 300 students. This effort, which took place on August 7, 2024, was supported by the Cambodian Women's Association for Peace and Development, the Ministry of Information's Kratie branch, local authorities, and the One Road Charitable Foundation.

During the event, Minister Neth Pheaktra highlighted the crucial role that education and emotional support play in shaping the nation's future. Addressing the gathered students, parents, and local authorities, he stressed that children are the nation's most valuable resource and that it is the collective responsibility of society to provide them with love, happiness, and hope. "We must educate our children to be good individuals, diligent students, and responsible citizens," he stated. "Cambodian children deserve to grow up in peace, with compassion and support from all."

Each of the over 300 students in Chit Borey district received a school bag, a water bottle, cakes, and other educational materials, all generously donated by Great Wall Motor (GWM) and the One Road Charity Foundation. Minister Neth Pheaktra expressed his heartfelt gratitude to these organizations for their contributions, which are helping to bring more smiles to students in rural areas by equipping them with the tools they need for their studies.

This initiative underscores the Ministry of Information's commitment to supporting education and fostering a brighter future for Cambodia's youth, particularly in underserved rural communities.
